China Care Club at Wash U

The China Care Club is a national non-profit organization with local university based chapters. The group at WashU is offering a couple of mentoring programs to our FCC Families as part of their goal of Empowering Youths.

The Dumplings group is designed for children ages 4-9 and the Chopstix mentoring program is for ages 10+.

Dumpling Group

Activities are scheduled on Friday evenings from 7pm to 8:30pm. Unless otherwise noted, all activities will take place in The Danforth University Center (DUC) on WashU's campus. Additional Info:

Registration for The Dumpling Group is for the entire 2017-18 school year.

Cost is $30 per Child, which covers craft supplies and snack for the entire 2017-18 school year.

Children are asked to bring a 'tool kit' to each meeting. The tool kit should include a pair of scissors, a glue stick or two, and a set of crayons, markers or colored pencils.

Mentoring & Tutoring: CHOPSTIX!

Due to the success of the Dumpling Group, the WashU students are providing our FCC Families with the additional services of Mentoring; providing more of a one-on-one for older children (ideally ages 10+).

The Chopstix program is a longterm commitment, typically a 4 year commitment. Our FCC children are matched up with a incoming freshman giving them an opportunity to form a lasting bond. Before registering, please review the Chopstix Handbook, it contains details and requirements regarding the Chopstix program.

The Chopstix 2019-2020 year will kick off at our FCC Fall Picnic on Saturday, September 28.

Meet the Children!

In 2014-15 the club sponsored two children! Meet AnPei and ZhongHe.

Shi Kang is the little boy in China that our China Care Club friends sponsored during the 2012-13 school year.

Also, there are lots of great pictures and awesome journal entries from their summer service trips to the China Care Home in Beijing: China Care in China!
